The same Ceylon Cinnamon. This one's grown in Kerala. The plantation was started by the British.

The only difference is in how the bark is removed. In Srilanka, the stem is beaten till the bark comes out. So It is in the form of a coil. In Kerala, the bark is chipped out using knife.

Taste and aroma is same in both as both are same species grown in different places. Has a mild aroma and a mild and sweet taste. Used for taking directly (supplement) and in sweets and sweet dishes. Light yellow colour.

(The java variety is reddish, violet in colour and has an overpowering and strong taste and aroma. It's used in Biriyani and other non veg dishes. Toxic if taken directly)

I have bought different Daahashamani's from the market and was not very impressed by them. I was curious when I saw this product priced at Rs195/- for 50g.

Anyway I thought of trying this once after reading the ingredients in the description. I am happy that I ordered the product. There is a nice fragrance of vetriver and sandalwood when we open the packet. The taste of the water is much better than the normal daahashamani's.
